These are selected sample of my scenic renderings.
I’ve always been a big fan of Proof, ever since I had to perform as Hal in my undergraduate acting course. While in grad school, I used Photoshop to create a rendering for a design that I hoped would do it justice.
This quick rendering of Versailles taught me the value of working fast and still being understood. This was a favorite project from Ivan Ingermann.
Don Massey taught me the value of sticking with a design and using your art to convey the distillation of the story. Not losing any of it, but figuring out how to encapsulate it into a simple idea. In essence, translating a story into scenic choices. This rendering for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum came from his encouragement. It also was my first rendering painted in ink!
