About Me

While my focus is in theatrical/entertainment design, I find that practical art and beautiful engineering enhance any and all products and productions. I find personal fulfillment in creating beauty from thin air (or sometimes thick depending on who set the hazer). I also find a great deal of joy in teaching design and entertainment technology.

I am an assistant professor of theatre at Southern Virginia University since 2011 after working as a freelance designer for community theatres, colleges, and semi-professional companies. I am a member of United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and have worked in theatre since I was 16 in props, scenery, sound, projection, and lighting. I taught classes while studying at Brigham Young University and the University of Georgia.

Specialties: Lighting design, scenic design, long-term consultation for entertainment products, master electrician, technical direction, drafting, rendering, scenic technology, entertainment rigging
